Do you make Pesach every year but dream about going away? Passover is an eight-day holiday, but preparing for it can take weeks. Some people start cleaning and cooking in their Pesach kitchen right after Purim. Between cleaning, shopping, cooking and keeping the kids busy, there’s a lot to get done. If you work full time, that often means squeezing Pesach prep into evenings or taking off a few days before the holiday, only to arrive at the Seder completely exhausted.
Don’t automatically assume that going away for Pesach is beyond your budget. Add up what you spend making Passover at home, including kosher for Pesach food, cleaning help, time off work and activities for the kids. Then consider what you might normally spend on a family vacation. A Passover program may still be expensive, but the difference might not be as big as you expected. There’s also something to be said for arriving at Pesach without weeks of cleaning, cooking and planning behind you.
Yes, there are high-end Passover programs at five-star resorts with gourmet dining, extensive entertainment and plenty of extras. But there are also more affordable Passover programs offering comfortable accommodations, good food and a full Pesach experience without all the bells and whistles.
If you’re hoping to go away for Passover 2027 without spending a fortune, there are options worth considering. The key is knowing where to look, what you’re paying for and which extras really matter to you.
Top Tips for Finding Affordable Passover Programs in 2027
Booking programs early saves money
The earlier you book a Passover program, the more money you’re likely to save. Like other industries, the Passover travel market offers Black Friday deals and early-bird discounts, usually in November and December, when availability is high and operators are eager to fill rooms. Prices typically start rising in January, and the more affordable programs often sell out first.
Passover 2027 begins on Wednesday night, April 21, and ends on Thursday night, April 29 (April 28 in Israel). If you’re hoping to keep costs down, start researching programs early. Booking ahead gives you more choices when it comes to destinations, room categories and lower-priced options.
Check the Hotel Amenities
Only pay for what you’ll actually use. Many high-end Passover programs take place at luxury resorts and spas, featuring amenities like golf courses, spa facilities, water parks, indoor and outdoor pools, concierge service, and more. If those aren’t important to you, there’s no reason to pay extra for them.
Most programs also include childcare, teen programming, lectures, and evening entertainment with well-known performers or speakers. These features can be great, but they add to the cost. If they aren’t priorities for you or your family, look for programs that skip the extras and focus on what matters most to you.
Don’t assume that a more affordable Passover program means giving up all amenities. Many budget-friendly programs still offer kids’ activities, entertainment, pools, and spa facilities. Sometimes, they’re simply more affordable because of the location, hotel or overall package rather than because they’re lacking in comfort or quality.

Compare what’s included in the price
Don’t compare Passover programs based on the starting price alone. Check how many nights are included and what you’re getting for that price. A program that initially looks more expensive may include a longer stay, airport transfers, excursions, kids’ activities or other extras that would cost more elsewhere.
Also look carefully at how prices are quoted. Many programs advertise a starting price per person based on double occupancy, while rates for third and fourth guests in a room may be lower. Families should compare the total cost for their particular room setup rather than simply multiplying the advertised per-person price.
It’s all about location, location, location
Where you spend Pesach can have a big impact on what you pay. Prices can vary significantly from one destination to another, and even programs in the same country can fall into very different price ranges depending on the hotel, length of stay and what’s included.
If keeping costs down is a priority, be open to destinations you may not have considered before. Passover programs are now available in a wide range of locations across Europe, Israel, Africa, Central and South America, Asia and beyond.
You may even find a program at a four- or five-star hotel for less than you expected simply by looking beyond the best-known Pesach destinations. Just remember to factor in airfare and transportation when comparing the total cost. A lower program price isn’t necessarily a bargain if getting there costs significantly more.
Protect your plans with travel insurance
Booking early can mean better prices, but it also means committing a significant amount of money months before Pesach. Travel insurance can help protect that investment if unexpected circumstances affect your plans.
Coverage varies considerably, so check what is covered before purchasing a policy. Some travelers also consider Cancel For Any Reason (CFAR) coverage, which generally costs more and has specific conditions and reimbursement limits. If you’re spending a significant amount on a Passover program, flights and other travel expenses, factor insurance into your overall budget.

What Does an Affordable Passover Program Cost in 2027?
Affordable means different things to different families, especially when it comes to Pesach programs. But there is a significant difference between programs starting at under $3,000 per person and luxury programs priced at $8,000, $9,000 or even $10,000+ per person.
As of September 2026, we’ve already found several Passover 2027 programs starting at under $4,000 per person, based on double occupancy. And it’s still very early in the season, with many programs yet to announce their 2027 prices. For comparison, our 2026 pricing guide eventually included 39 programs starting at under $4,000 per person, 30 programs in the $4,000 to $7,000 range and 14 programs starting at $7,000 or more.
Among the lower-priced options announced for 2027 so far are Travelink at the Dan Panorama Hotel in Tel Aviv, starting at $2,182 per person for eight nights; PesachIsrael.com at Nof Kinneret Hotel in Tiberias, starting at ₪8,570 (approximately $2,810) per person; and Olam Holidays in Crete, starting at €3,150 (approximately $3,640) per person.
There are also a number of programs starting in the $4,000 to $7,000 range, including options in Portugal, Scotland, Israel, Kenya, Costa Rica, Italy, Panama and the United Kingdom. These include everything from seven- and eight-night hotel stays to a 14-day safari program in Kenya, which is why it’s important to look beyond the starting price and compare the length of stay and what’s included.
Keep in mind that these are starting prices and that rates can vary by room category and occupancy. Prices for third and fourth guests sharing a room may be lower, while other room configurations may cost more. Approximate dollar conversions can also change with exchange rates.
