PORTO MIRANTE
The PORTO MIRANTE is specially adapted to the special features of the Douro and its locks. It offers space for 120 guests in 60 double cabins. The upper and middle decks have French balconies and all cabins face outwards.
On board the PORTO MIRANTE, guests have access to a fitness room with state-of-the-art equipment. In addition, the newest Douro ship in the fleet has a panoramic lounge with bar and a sky lounge that extends over two decks. Other features of the ship include an on-board store, a spacious sun deck with a pool and sun loungers. An elevator connects all decks (except the sun deck). The ship is fully air-conditioned.
There are 24 spacious cabins on both the Diamond Deck and the Ruby Deck, each with a French balcony inviting you to enjoy the beautiful view. On the Emerald Deck, the 2-bed cabins have windows that cannot be opened. All cabins are perfectly equipped with a flat-screen TV, including minibar, Nespresso® machine, beauty products from RITUALS®, hairdryer, safe, air conditioning, shower and WC and leave nothing to be desired.

Itinerary
DAY 1: PORTO
Discover the enchanting city of Porto. From the former Jewish Quarter to the Kadoorie Mekor Haim Synagogue, the largest in the Iberian Peninsula. Along the way, we uncover remnants of Porto’s once-thriving Jewish community, including ancient synagogues, cemeteries, and hidden artifacts that tell the story of a resilient past.
DAY 2: PORTO
Explore the Ribeira District, Porto’s historic waterfront, with its narrow streets, colorful houses, and lively cafés blending old-world charm with modern energy. Afterward, we’ll walk across the iconic Luis I Bridge, taking in breathtaking views of Porto and Vila Nova de Gaia across the Douro River.
DAY 3: REGUA
Régua is known for its scenic vineyards and port wine production, yet echoes of its Jewish past remain embedded in the landscape. We will visit the Douro Museum to uncover its magical secrets and enjoy a port wine tasting.
DAY 4: SAILING THE DOURO RIVER TO SPAIN
Cruising along the Douro River offers a breathtaking view of Portugal’s iconic landscapes, with terraced vineyards cascading down the hillsides and charming villages dotting the banks. The river’s winding path through the Douro Valley, a UNESCO World Heritage site, creates a serene and picturesque scene.
DAY 5: SALAMANCA
A beautiful historic university town, once had a thriving Jewish community that was tragically erased by the Spanish Inquisition and the 1492 Expulsion. Jewish life flourished there for centuries, but increasing persecution led to forced conversions, confiscations, and mass baptisms, culminating in exile. Our visit traces these echoes of the past, from the vanished synagogues and hidden Jewish symbols to the enduring stories of crypto-Jews who secretly maintained their faith.
DAY 6: BELMONTE & TRANCOSO
Belmonte is home to a remarkable community of crypto-Jews who secretly preserved their Jewish identity for over 500 years despite forced conversions and persecution.
Trancoso, a medieval town in northern Portugal, was once home to a significant Jewish community. Today, the Isaac Cardoso Center honors Trancoso’s rich Jewish heritage.
DAY 7: LAMEGO & GUIMARAES
Lamego, with its stunning cathedral and grand staircase, hides traces of its once-thriving Jewish community beneath centuries of concealment.
Guimarães, known as the “birthplace of Portugal,” also holds a hidden Jewish past. Though little remains of its once-thriving Jewish quarter, traces can be found in the narrow streets near the old castle.
DAY 8: PORTO
Visit Livraria Lello, one of the most beautiful bookstores in the world, renowned for its intricate interior and its connection to J.K. Rowling’s inspiration for Harry Potter. Next, we’ll explore the stunning Palácio da Bolsa, Porto’s neoclassical stock exchange building, known for its ornate architecture and the impressive Arab Room.
