Celebrate Passover 2027 in beautiful Scotland with Kosher Scotland. From 21–30 April 2027, our family-friendly Pesach programme will bring together elegant accommodation, upscale kosher dining, inspiring religious services and memorable opportunities to explore Scotland.
Our home for Pesach will be Peebles Hydro, a landmark country hotel overlooking the magnificent Tweed Valley. Set amid extensive grounds close to the historic town of Peebles, the hotel offers a peaceful setting surrounded by some of Scotland’s most beautiful countryside, while remaining within easy reach of Edinburgh.
Kosher Scotland will have exclusive use of the property for Pesach, creating a warm, relaxed and welcoming atmosphere in which families, couples and solo travellers can enjoy the holiday together.
Accommodation at Peebles Hydro
Peebles Hydro offers a wide selection of beautifully appointed en-suite bedrooms, including double and twin rooms, spacious Feature and Signature rooms, and family rooms accommodating up to six guests.
Many of the rooms enjoy sweeping views across the Tweed Valley. Complimentary Wi-Fi, television and access to the hotel’s leisure facilities are included, while the variety of room configurations makes the hotel particularly well suited to families and multigenerational groups.
Gourmet Kosher Dining
Guests will enjoy gourmet cuisine prepared by Kosher Scotland’s experienced culinary team. The programme includes three generous meals each day, table wines and soft drinks, together with lavish Kiddushim on Yom Tov and Shabbat.
Tea, coffee and refreshments will also be available in the lobby bar from midday until midnight. Our aim is to combine excellent food with warm Scottish hospitality, attentive service and a relaxed dining experience throughout the programme.
The entire programme will be under the hashgachah of Rabbi Moshe Rubin, Senior Rabbi of Scotland, supported by a dedicated team of mashgichim on site to ensure the highest standards of kashrut throughout Pesach.
Davening, Sedarim and Learning
A full synagogue will be available on site, with daily minyanim led by our programme rabbis and chazzanim. Services will be primarily Nusach Ashkenaz, with Nusach Sefard options offered where possible.
Guests can look forward to inspiring davening, daily shiurim, lectures and special events designed to create a meaningful yet welcoming Yom Tov atmosphere.
A choice of Seder arrangements will be available, including private, semi-private, family-style and communal Seders, allowing every guest to experience Seder night in the way that best suits them.
Discover Scotland During Chol Hamoed
Our programme is designed for guests who want to combine a meaningful Pesach with the opportunity to experience Scotland’s history, culture and outstanding scenery.
During Chol Hamoed, organised excursions will explore destinations such as Edinburgh, Stirling and Loch Lomond, alongside castles, museums, historic sites and some of Scotland’s most memorable landscapes.
Each excursion will offer options for different ages and interests. Families can enjoy attractions such as animal experiences, adventure parks, castle visits and outdoor activities, while more adventurous guests can choose from activities including hiking, horse riding and water sports. Those looking for a gentler day can enjoy historic houses, museums, scenic tours and time to explore at a relaxed pace.
On Yom Tov and Shabbat, there will be local walking tours, family activities, talks and opportunities to enjoy the countryside surrounding Peebles.
Children’s Programme and Hotel Leisure
Our dedicated children’s programme will give younger guests the opportunity to make friends and enjoy age-appropriate activities in a safe and welcoming environment.
Peebles Hydro also offers excellent leisure facilities: a 20-metre indoor swimming pool, a separate children’s pool, gym, spa treatments and a great variety of outdoor activities, including a playpark for the youngest guests. Whether you want to stay active, spend time with the family or simply relax, there will be plenty to enjoy between meals, services and excursions.
